If there’s a class or topic at school you just can’t figure out, I’ve got great news – you’re not the only one! All students have an academic challenge, maybe a math equation, a science theory or how to write a good essay.

But…

Not all students are GOATs

You’re taking an important (and brave) step to work with a tutor to tackle your challenges. Tutors are part of your team! We’re here to provide help, encouragement and support so you can achieve your dreams.

Speaking of GOATs…did you know Albert Einstein struggled with languages and social studies and had a tutor? Actor Orlando Bloom had trouble in school due to dyslexia and was tutored in reading and writing. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps has ADHD, so it was hard for him to focus in a classroom. He had tutors in high school and was able to attend college on a swimming scholarship!

Want to meet other GOATs like you?

Group tutoring is the answer! Other students have the same challenges as you – wouldn’t it be amazing to meet them and work together? We can make it happen!

I teach an online leadership class for managers of banks, restaurants and other businesses. They are always quiet at the beginning of the session, but then they start talking about their challenges, like employees who are late for work and difficult customers. Soon they’re laughing and feeling so much better, knowing they aren’t alone with their struggles! They also share ideas and learn from each other.

How does group tutoring work?

We’ll either meet online or in person, depending on the situation. All tutors are different, but I like to check in with everyone by asking a fun question – maybe where they’re from, favorite food, or something surprising about themselves.

After this “icebreaker” we’ll get to work! Your tutor will make sure there is a supportive environment where students are comfortable asking questions. You’ll learn from the other students and might be able to help them, as well! The tutor has a session plan; they will make sure everyone stays on track and crosses the finish line as a team. You’ll feel better knowing you’re not alone, improve your skills and boost your confidence. You’ve got this!

If I like the group tutor, can they tutor me in private?

Yes! We would love to continue working with you! Remember, tutors are part of your team and we’re committed to your success.

Just let us know when you’re ready to meet the other GOATs and give group tutoring a try!

I have a doctoral degree in Higher Education from Benedictine University, Master of Science degrees from Johns Hopkins University (Applied Behavioral Science) and Air University (Military Operational Art and Science), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Penn State University. I am most passionate about writing, reading, verbal and critical thinking skills. I love mentoring and coaching to help people achieve their dreams!
